Board Membership
The membership of the Board is broadly based and its 29 members are representative of four broad sectors:
- Six representatives from the Local Government Sector, represented by the Cathaoirleach (Chairman of the Council), the five Chairpersons of Strategic Policy Committees and the County Manager.
- Six representatives from the Local Development Sector which comprises of representatives from the County Enterprise Board, Ballyhoura Development Ltd., West Limerick Resources Ltd., County Limerick Childcare Committee and County Limerick Local Sports Partnership.
- Ten representatives from the State Agency Sector including Shannon Development, the Health Service Executive Mid-Western Region, FAS, Teagasc, Limerick County Vocational Education Committee, Industrial Development Agency, Dept. of Social and Family Affairs, An Gárda Siochana, Enterprise Ireland, Regional Office of the Department of Education and Science.
- Five representatives from the Social Partners which represent the Trade Union, the Farming and the Employers Sectors together with two representatives from the Community and Voluntary Sector.
